Accelerate Indoor Speedway Grand Opening Benefits UPAF With 50% Of Day’s Sales
Sometimes, you can help the arts simply by racing a kart, chasing a cop, throwing an axe, or vaporizing a zombie in a virtual reality game. Thank you to all of you who made it possible to donate $2,000, a full 50% of our sales from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11 at the Accelerate Indoor Speedway & Events Grand Opening to the United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF).
The ribbon-cutting featured Waukesha Mayor Shawn Reilly, along with representatives from UPAF, local law enforcement, the City of Waukesha Chamber of Commerce, Waukesha County Business Alliance, and Visit Milwaukee. UPAF supports 14 Performing Arts Members, including First Stage, Florentine Opera Company, Milwaukee Ballet, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, and Skylight Music Theatre, as well as numerous Affiliates.
“It’s a great location with some really great racers and awesome team members,” says David Larson, managing partner, Autobahn Holdings. “We are honored to have the chance to build on this great tradition by providing even more opportunities for people of all ages. We want to take something that’s already great and make it even better, elevating the customer experience and offering our team members a spirited work culture where they can grow.” This year, Autobahn was officially certified nationally as a Great Place To Work®, and the company provides management training, a 401k plan, bonuses, and a full suite of other benefits.
Autobahn Holdings, which operates nine Autobahn Indoor Speedway & Events, one Accelerate Indoor Speedway & Events, and two Victory Lap sports-themed restaurants, started the AEKC by bringing together the top high-speed indoor electric karting facilities in the country for a $10,000 cash prize. Featured in the ESPN documentary, “Anyone’s Race,” which is now available on Amazon Prime, the AEKC held its first two national championships at Accelerate Indoor Speedway Chicago.
The top racer at Veloce Indoor Speedway will join more than 50 other winners from across the country to compete in the Third AEKC this September at Autobahn Indoor Speedway & Events Jacksonville. In addition to serving as the Milwaukee qualification venue for the AEKC, Accelerate, as a member of the World Axe League (WATL), will also offer local axe throwers a chance to qualify for the World Axe League Championships and $25,000 grand prize. The track will offer “arrive and drive” and online reservations, along with providing a popular venue for corporate meetings, birthdays, and other events.
The new location is part of an assertive growth plan for Autobahn Holdings. Says Larson, “Our tagline is, ‘Play to win.’, and our internal mantra is ‘Think young. Have fun.’ We want to be the highlight of everyone’s day or week. Come in happy, and leave even happier.”
